You have a Colt Agent revolver, chambered for the.38 Special cartridge. Yours was made in 1964. The Agent was a low-cost snub-nosed revolver. It was based on the Colt Cobra but had a less-polished finish and plain wood grips. They are a little difficult to find so they seem to hold their value pretty well, even though they aren't as finished as some other Colt revolvers. Depending on condition, it could be worth $400-$1000 (for a pristine gun, new-in-the-box).

Even after Colt began using unique serial numbers in the 1960's, Colt often combined a number of models into one serial number range. As example in the late 1960's Colt started combining all small 'D' frame models like the Detective Special, Cobra, Agent, Diamondback, Viper, Police Positive Special, etc in the same serial number ranges. Colt Agent.38 special Value???? My neighbor has a Colt Agent.38 special that she is interested in possibly selling to me. I have no clue what this revolver is worth.
